BPM Capacity planning - general guidelines

Recommendations:

1. Investigate the root cause of poor performing transactions in current environment. Assess optimization capabilities to speed up processing.
2. Set up proactive monitoring on BPM node and database server for core resource metrics (CPU and RAM utilization). Consider early warning notifications when resource utilization crossing a predefined threshold.
3. Upgrade to MS SQL Server Enterprise version to be able scale up CPU power on demand.
4. Be prepared to scale up CPU capacity on BPM node and database server
5. Ideally, implement a load testing activity, either on current hardware or future generation hardware, to empirically analyze capacity for handling planned load for applications to be on-boarded
6. Conduct follow-on sizing estimate for BPM environment considering recently defined SLA and updated usage projections.
